Scan n Cut Tutorial based on an Applelover 53 youtube video

At our local Scan n Cut group we did a session using an Applelover53  tutorial learning how to use shapes to make a card cover/cutout

Here's my accompanying PowerPoint presentation with notes and findings from the exercise.  You will need to watch the tutorial for the notes to make sense.  Have a go and let me know how you get on.

Notes from the Stockport Scan n Cut group 17/01/2019

From the basic shapes choose a circle and set it on the page.

With the circle selected, go to the properties box.  With the 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' box ticked change the size of the circle to one inch.

With the circle still selected we need to create an offset line of 0.08" outward and rounded, keeping the original line. So select the Edit tab and click on the offset line icon

create the settings.

You now have 2 circles on the screen. When a shape is selected there is a blue dashed box around it. If there is only one shape selected there are the 8 blue spots on the edges for dragging it out.

Click in the centre of the 2 circles. If the blue box is around the outer circle as above then this is on top of the inner circle. Whilst this is selected, right click and choose 'Send to Back'. This brings the smaller circle to the front and will allow you to punch it out of the larger one using subtract to create a ring. So select both circles and select the Edit tab and the Subtract icon.
Fill this ring with colour so you can see what will be cutting, you do this from the properties box.
